Professional organizations exist for almost all occupations. Tailors (Professional Association of Custom Clothiers ( PACC ), court reporters (National Court Reporters Association) and sales professionals (National Association of Sales Professionals (NASP)) each have their own organization.
In the field of Biblical Studies, the Society of Biblical Literature is the primary professional organization. In recent years, the SBL has taken a more active role in disseminating its scholarship to a larger audience through an online journal called “The Forum”. Readers of this blog might be interested in the current issue.
