From Alan to Schlomo

It's not often that two of my favorite areas of interest watermelon seed spitting and Manimal reruns Dallas Cowboys football and Old Testament studies, overlaps.

But it appears that Alan Veingrad, an old name from the Cowboy's 1992 Superbowl run, has converted to Hassidic Judaism. See the Dallas Morning News story here.

He's also changed his first name from Alan to Schlomo.

(Schlomo is Hebrew for Solomon and is no reflection on Veingrad's impressive 40 time).

Schlomo joke, nice. If there were more Schlomos in the NFL, I might watch.
